What You’ll Do

As an Account Executive, you will be responsible for servicing, marketing and renewing assigned accounts plus accounts receivable management for your book of business.

  • Develop and maintain proactive communication with clients, production staff and other associates including: handling client and/or company questions/issues concerning services rendered or referring complaints of service failures to the appropriate management staff for investigation and resolution
  • Participate in preparation of new and renewal submissions and obtain underwriting information
  • Develop a service plan tailored to client’s needs and coordinate the services of other IMA departments (Risk Management, Claims, Surety, Benefits, etc.)
  • Conduct periodic coverage and risk reviews to ensure the adequacy of the client’s program design
  • Develop sales of new or additional lines of coverage or services on existing accounts
  • Participate in developing marketing strategies for renewals and new business including cultivating and maintaining good communication with insurance markets
  • Communicate to Account Managers regarding the account review information and the bind coverage information in conjunction with workflow standards
  • Attend education classes, seminars, workshops, etc. in combination with individual study programs to expand knowledge and skills to retain a book of business. This includes maintaining and communicating up‑to‑date knowledge of market conditions, pricing strategies, market/product option etc. to all team members and Producers
  • Actively support the department by participating in the completion of all duties required to complete a project and service an account
  • Be responsible for collection of all account receivable items in accordance with IMA Accounts Receivable Policy 

You Should Have:

  • Seven to ten years of similar or related experience

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or education equivalent to a degree (Bachelor's Preferred)

  • The ability to interpret insurance documents

  • The ability to motivate and influence others while displaying diplomacy and trust and obtaining cooperation

  • Excellent written and communication skills

  • Strong mathematical abilities and reasoning skills

  • Expertise and familiarity with Excel, rates, ratios, percentages, discounts and commissions

  • The ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks

  • Courtesy, tact and diplomacy as much of the work involves personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization

  • A Property & Casualty license for the state of business and will fulfill continuing education requirements to retain licensing

  • Strong computer proficiency with Microsoft Office products and other programs

  • The willingness to complete additional duties and take on additional responsibilities as the need arises

  • The ability to travel as required
