What You’ll Do

The Data Management Analyst will be the primary point of contact for IMA’s benefits data analytics warehouse.  Additionally, the Analyst will provide support to Technical and Account Analysts as needs arise specific to claims analysis and reporting including but not limited to:  annual utilization reporting, monthly claims reports, and maintenance of IMA’s benchmark database. 


General Job Duties Include:

Data Warehouse:

  • Coordinates the ongoing relationship with IMA’s benefits analytics partner including all external data feeds to the data analytics partner, ongoing system and IMA user issues.
  • Refines existing data-related consulting services to generate additional success for clients.
  • Integrates various data sources on behalf of client for the purpose of evaluating annual plan & partner performance.
  • Researches and applies ways of utilizing existing or new sources of data, partnering internally where appropriate (e.g. workers’ compensation).
  • Identifies analytic tools and manages related selection process for any applicable new approaches. Provides support and training to benefits Technical and Account Analysts on use of the data warehouse interface for the purpose of accessing and analyzing claims data.

Data Analytics Reporting:

  • Under the guidance of the Director of Underwriting, Startegy, and Partnerships, regularly evaluates all benefits analytics standard client reporting in an effort to update reports and claims analysis to provide IMA clients with the most relevant data available. 
  • Responsible for the ongoing maintenance of all reports and the process by which data is obtained from the IMA benefits warehouse and loaded into report templates.
  • Provides support and training to benefits Accounts Analysts for all aspects of reporting.

Benchmark Data:

  • Manages all aspects of the IMA benefits benchmark database including but not limited to: ongoing maintenance of the database, updating the benchmark database with new industry survey and report data as it comes available.
  • Coordinates annual updates to benchmark data presentation materials and provides internal support for accessing the benchmark database.

You Should Have:

  • Five or more years of similar related experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with internal and external clients.
  • Must possess a high level of tact, diplomacy, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficiency is Microsoft produce, specifically Excel, is required.
  • Strong reasoning skills with the ability to analyze and interpret data.
  • Be able to work independently and prioritize multiple projects.
