What You’ll Do

The Assistant Underwriter and Team Lead is responsible for providing underwriting support by preparing reports, processing inquiries and communicating with retail agents.  This position is also responsible for acting proactively to ensure smooth team operations and workflows, effective collaboration and management of team PTO. 


Essential job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare information needed to market new and renewal business
  • Ensure consistency of reports
  • Issue policies and process endorsements
  • Gather underwriting information from retail agents
  • Assist with invoice management
  • Manage and input data
  • Provide exceptional customer service to incoming calls
  • Discover training needs and provide coaching
  • Other duties as assigned

You Should Have:

  • Five to ten years of related experience
  • Proven work experience as a team leader or supervisor
  • Advanced computer skills, to include typing, MS Office and spread sheeting software
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, to include presentation skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills
