What You’ll Do

The Risk Management Consultant will provide development, coordination and quality assurance of risk management services for Client Group Programs. Develop, monitor and modify data collection strategies, application of risk management performance analytics, reporting packages for delivery to both program-level and member-level clients.


Essential Functions & Responsibilities:


  • Program Level: Consult with Program Manager and Client Group Administrator to design and implement integrated risk management strategies, including but not limited to claim management, claim oversight and audit, cost containment, safety and loss prevention, oversight of loss control consulting, risk management reporting package.
  • Program Management Liaison: Serve as liaison on behalf of the Program Manager to IMA associates and third party vendors providing member-level risk management services, for the purpose of ensuring strong and consistent communication between all parties.
  • Claim Management: Provide claim management oversight, audit and coordination of outside TPAs and carriers.
  • Data Management – Claims: Establish and maintain Carrier Interface Systems and access to carrier claims information. Assist with technical resources within the claim areas including claim system management and development.
  • Loss Control: Provide loss control oversight, audit and coordination of both IMA and any third party loss control consultants.
  • Data Management – Loss Control: Establish and maintain appropriate access to web-based education and training resources.
  • Develop education and presentations for program-level and member-level, including program board meetings.



You Should Have:

  • Five years to ten years of risk management related experience with a focus on either claim management, loss control, or both.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with ability to manage projects with input from various sources and parties. Strong mathematical skills required. 
  • Ability to discuss and solve complex claim problems with clients and insurance carriers.
  • Proficient computer skills required in Microsoft Office and IMA claims system.
  • Prior claim experience required.
  • Decisions frequently require in depth analysis and the construction of new decision making frameworks and/or innovative application of general policies or principles.
