What You’ll Do

The Account Executive works closely with Producers in closing new business while leading a team that provides the best technical knowledge and consultation for our clients. 

The AE continually seeks ways to improve his or her knowledge of the industry to maintain a level of expertise for the team and clients.  

  • PRODUCTION SUPPORT: Provide support to Producers in completing prospect RFPs.  Attend finalist presentations as necessary.
  • MANAGEMENT: Responsible for and/or contributes to the hiring, coaching, training, development, and delivery of performance evaluations for support staff.  Conduct consistent team meetings.
  • CARRIER RELATIONS: Identify and develop professional working relationships at appropriate levels within carrier organizations.  Attend carrier functions and conferences as necessary to represent IMA in a professional manner.  May participate on carrier board/advisory groups.
  • CLIENT MANAGEMENT: Supports department revenue goals.  Responsible for client contact and implementation of items outlined in service matrix guidelines.  Responsible for total account management and client satisfaction and retention by developing a plan for service team to carry out. Ensures carrier issues are elevated to the appropriate levels for resolution.  Participates in client education / IMA Universities as requested.  Keeps abreast of market trends and educates client appropriately.   
  • ACCOUNT ROUNDING: Identifies and capitalizes on revenue opportunities with existing clients, growing book with sale of additional benefits.
  • MARKETING / RENEWAL PROCESS:  Primarily responsible for renewal management per the service matrix guidelines including negotiating and presenting renewal and/or other options. 

You Should Have:

  • Five+ years of similar or related experience
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred, equivalent experience is accepted
  • Ability to build relationships with clients by earning their trust, acting with a sense of urgency, and serving as an expert in the industry
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make recommendations for the client
  • Ability to clearly communicate and professionally present information to clients
  • Multitasking and prioritization skills are a must 
  • A passion for team building and leadership and driven to motivate others and succeed together
