What You’ll Do

The Account Manager will actively participate in a team consisting of Sales and Account Executives, Processing and Servicing Account Managers in coordinating and providing IMA services to our commercial clients of moderate to high complexity.  

  • Responsible for account servicing needs, direct with client, during the policy year including binders, certificates,  auto ID cards, filings, endorsements etc.  Accountable for maintaining account files including Sagitta data base, core files and transactional files.  Responsible for resolving coverage and premium discrepancy       
  • Responsible for renewal process on designated existing accounts as follows: 1) Request loss runs from insurance carriers;  2) Prepare and/or update premium and loss summary on system;  3) Prepare account review according to standards set forth by the IMA Commercial workflow; 4) Prepare renewal submission; 5) Obtain renewal quote via in house rating or negotiations with the company underwriter; 6) Prepare the proposal of final coverages for the client and 7) Follow up until coverage is accepted or declined.
  • Responsible for processing all policies, endorsements, etc. including verifying and reconciling accuracy of premiums and commissions.
  • Assist with new business to develop risk and exposure analysis prior to quoting. Once information is complete, responsible to obtain quote, prepare proposal and follow up until coverage is accepted or declined.
  • Set up and maintain follow up for final audits on expired and/or non renewed policies. Process audits and update exposure comparison.
  • Actively support the team by participating in the completion of all duties required to complete a project and service an account.

You Should Have:

  • At least five years of similar or related experience
  • A Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or education equivalent to a degree 
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Courtesy, tact and diplomacy as much of the work involves personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization
  • Strong mathematical abilities and reasoning skills
  • The ability to interpret insurance documents
  • The ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Expertise and familiarity with Excel, rates, ratios, percentages, discounts and commissions
  • A Property & Casualty license for the state of business and will fulfill continuing education requirements to retain licensing
  • Strong computer proficiency with Microsoft Office products and other programs
  • The willingness to complete additional duties and take on additional responsibilities as the need arises
