    What You’ll Do

    The Risk Control Advisor will identify exposures, benchmark client against industry best practices, then recommend and deploy solutions to clients to prevent losses and strive for regulatory compliance in the areas of safety, health and the environment in partnership with the Risk Control Team.  Additionally, the Risk Control Advisor will establish and maintain themselves as a “subject matter expert” in an area that supports the client base within IMA.

     

    Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

    • Provide Safety Training, Facility Audits, and Written Programs to complete service plan items.
    • Development of proposals and/or capabilities presentations.
    • Perform Risk Assessment to benchmark client against industry best practices.
    • Other responsibilities include but are not limited to: managing assigned accounts, researching and responding to client questions, coordinating with Marketing and Underwriting, completing all work in a timely manner, mentoring other Risk Control associates and assisting the team as requested.
    • Analyze losses and publish Loss Analysis to determine areas for improvement.
    • Development of Service Plans
    • Perform risk control underwriting surveys on Program Accounts.
    • Collect Industrial Hygiene samples and interpret data.

    You Should Have:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health and Safety, or similar field with three to five years of experience. Additional years of experience in lieu of degree is also accepted.
    • Risk and safety experience within the construction industry is desired.
    • Demonstrated ability to professionally present information and recommendations to clients while building trust and relationships.
    • Experience working independently with the ability to multi task and prioritize to see assignments through to completion.
    • Strong analytical capabilities.
    • The ability to interpret insurance documents
    • Expertise and familiarity with Excel, rates, ratios, percentages, discounts and commissions
    • The ability to lift and move up to 40 lbs.
    • Strong computer proficiency with Microsoft Office products and other programs
    • The willingness to complete additional duties and take on additional responsibilities as the need arises
