    What You’ll Do

    As a Commercial Lines Leader you will be responsible for leading the Account Executives, Processing and Servicing Account Managers, and Account Representatives.  This includes training, developing and managing workflow to ensure quality service for our clients.  Also, responsible for servicing, marketing and renewing assigned accounts plus accounts receivable management for all accounts in the individual's book of business.  This position is responsible for a moderate to large volume of assigned business.   

    • Conduct periodic coaching or performance review meetings with team members as needed and complete documentation as established by the Human Resources Department.
    • Monitor and coordinate 1) training and development of all team members; 2) assignment of new accounts and transfer of accounts among staff; 3) ensure the quality control standards of the team are continually maintained.
    • Develop & maintain proactive communication level with clients, production staff and other associates.  This includes handling client and/or insurance company questions/issues concerning services rendered or referring complaints of service failures to the appropriate management staff for investigation and resolution.
    • Participate in preparation of new and renewal submissions and obtain underwriting information.
    • In conjunction with Producers, develop a service plan tailored to client's needs and coordinate the services of other IMA departments (Risk Management, Claims, Surety, Contract Review, etc.).
    • Participate in developing marketing strategy for renewals and new business including cultivating and maintaining good communication with insurance markets.
    • Conduct periodic coverage and business risk reviews to ensure the adequacy of the client's program design.
    • Develop sales of new or additional lines of coverage or services on existing accounts.
    • Responsible for collection of all account receivable items in accordance with IMA Accounts Receivable Policy.
    • Communicate to Account Managers regarding the account review information and the bind coverage information in conjunction with workflow standards.
    • Attend education classes, seminars, workshops, etc., in combination with individual study programs to expand knowledge and skills to retain a book of business.  This includes maintaining and communicating up to date knowledge of market conditions, pricing strategies, market/product option etc. to all team members and Producers.
    • Actively support the department by participating in the completion of all duties required to complete a project and service an account.
    • Serve as a leadership champion of organizational initiatives.
    • Communicate with market president regarding department strategies, needs, and performance.

    You Should Have:

    • At least ten years of similar or related experience
    • Equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree 
    • Management and leadership experience within commercial insurance is required
    • A significant level of trust and diplomacy
    • Courtesy, tact and diplomacy as much of the work involves personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization
    • Strong written and oral communication skills
    • Strong proficiency in computer skills and programs such as Microsoft Office
    • Property and casualty license required for state of business.  Must fulfill continuing education requirements to retain license.
    • The willingness to complete additional duties and take on additional responsibility as the need arises
