    What You’ll Do

    We currently have an exciting career opportunity for a Sr. Broker (exempt) within our Executive Risk Solutions department.  The position will be filled either in our Denver office or our Kansas City office and will support various office locations of IMA, Inc.  Primary responsibilities include marketing and advising on new and renewal executive liability programs for private company clients and prospects: These lines include: Directors & Officers Liability, Employment Practices Liability, Fiduciary Liability, Cyber Liability, E&O, Crime, Kidnap & Ransom coverage and Reps & Warranties Liability.

     

    You will:

    • Assist account teams towards identifying new business opportunities from our various offices and deliver sophisticated coverage reviews, program recommendations, RFP’s and other sale-oriented, persuasive reports
    • Assist account teams in listening to clients and helping create a strategy for their growth and risk avoidance
    • Take a lead role with account teams in the sale of ERS products; marketing new and renewal business, including:
      • Analysis of client financial statements and insurance contracts
      • Identify areas for improvement within insurance programs and develop strategies for implementing any changes
      • Communicate with insurance markets and effectively use negotiation skills to secure favorable program terms
    • Foster underwriter relationships and maintain an understanding of the executive liability marketplace (including carrier appetite, capabilities and performance history) in order to effectively represent clients
    • Understand leading insurance company policy forms and be able to communicate any differences to internal IMA team members as well as to external underwriter and client contacts
    • Maintain effective working relationships and build trust with all client contacts
    • Mentor and assist in the development of more junior ERS associates
    • Contribute to the development of client proposals, and effectively communicate proposal material to clients

    You Should Have:

    • Five or more years of similar or related professional experience
    • Bachelor’s degree or Advanced degree
    • Expertise with and working knowledge of executive liability insurance coverages
    • Excellent organizational and communication skills (oral and written)
    • Commitment to excellence and ethical behavior in all dealings
    • Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to build and maintain strong relationships with underwriters, clients and IMA team members
    • An ability to respond calmly, creatively and quickly in a fast-paced, changing environment
    • A strong work ethic
    • The ability to interpret insurance documents
    • Strong Math skills that require and involves familiarity with ratios, percentages, discounts and commissions
    • Strong common sense with the ability to handle pressurized situations and handle and prioritize multiple tasks
    • Property and casualty license required for state of business and fulfill continuing education requirements to retain license
    • Strong computer proficiency with multiple applications: Microsoft Office, etc.
    • The willingness to complete additional duties and take on additional responsibility as the need arises
    • The ability to travel on occasion when business needs require arise
