What You’ll Do

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to: 

 

  • Supports and demonstrates IMA Select’s core values

  • Responsibility for daily account servicing and client advisement needs including but not limited to handling client and insurance company inquiries, resolving coverage and premium discrepancy issues, maintaining accurate account information in agency management system, processing of endorsements, audits, certificates of insurance, and auto ID cards, etc. 
  • Cultivates and maintains excellent communication and relationships with clients and insurance carriers 
  • Interacts professionally and timely with clients via email, phone, and in-person 
  • Develops remarketing strategy in accordance with client servicing standards and market changes 
  • Responsibility for managing renewal process on assigned book of business including preparation of pre-renewal summary, creating renewal applications and submissions, online quoting via carrier rating platforms, reviewing quotes and negotiating terms and premiums, preparing final quotes and proposals for delivery to client, binding coverage, and issuing renewal invoices, certificates, auto ID cards, etc. 
  • Participates in conference calls and/or periodic in-person client meetings to review insurance strategies and business operations 
  • Assists with the onboarding and training of new associates 
  • Serves as a subject matter expert and provides technical expertise to staff 
  • Participates in cross-selling new lines of coverage or services on existing accounts 
  • Responsibility for following up on accounts receivable items in accordance with IMA Accounts Receivable Policy 
  • Attends education classes in combination with individual study programs to expand technical coverage knowledge 

You Should Have:

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills with ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment 
  • Ability to work independently regarding matters of significance 
  • Ability to manage accounts with increased complexity 
  • Ability to analyze insurance quotes and make recommendations 
  • Ability to think strategically 
  • Knowledge of policy forms and endorsements 
  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Math skills required, involving familiarity with ratios, percentages, discounts, and commissions 
  • Strong computer proficiency including Microsoft Office products 
  • Minimum 5 years of similar or related experience 
  • Property and Casualty license required for state of business and must fulfill continuing education requirement to retain license
