What You’ll Do

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Supports and demonstrates IMA’s core values

  • Interact professionally and timely with clients via email, phone and in-person  
  • MARKETING/RFPs 
  • Reviews department BOB to include review and preparation of renewals for fully insured, TPA, stop loss, PBM coverages, cost, and contract terms to ensure standards are met, determines trends, sets expectation and provides communications internally and externally 
  • Collect, manage and review proposals  
  • Update marketing results into spreadsheet ensuring accuracies to be used internally and in client presentation   
  • RENEWALS 
  • Request renewals for all lines of coverage 
  • Responsible to ensure target renewal release dates are met by carriers 
  • Initial review of all plans, cost and contract terms within renewal based on criteria provided by Account Executive 
  • Provide recommendations to Account Executive 
  • PARTNERSHIP & NEGOTIATION 
  • Take direction from Account Executive in all negotiations with carriers   
  • Build relationship with carrier and vendor partners 
  • UNDERWRITING & ANALYSIS 
  • Provide analysis of benchmarking, contributions, network disruption and GeoAssess as requested from Account Executive  
  • Preparation of IBNR calculations for self funded clients
  • Perform underwriting for dental and vision plans  
  • REPORTING 
  • Manage outsourcing and ensure reporting needs are met 
  • Update monthly claims report for clients providing written and oral summary of findings 
  • Build custom financial/utilization reports when needed  
  • PRESENTATION
  • Prepares client presentations and presents in from of client with provided direction from Account Executive
  • TRAINING & MENTORSHIP
  • Provides mentorship  to analyst and performs technical review of work 

You Should Have:

  • 6-8 years of similar or related experience
  • Prefer college graduate, 4-year degree or equivalent experience
  • Proficient with MS Office Suites with expert required
  • Attains Life and Health license & maintains through continuing education requirements
  • Limited travel required (less than 25%)
  • Understands concepts of underwriting and actuarial computations
  • Analyzes and interprets data
  • Effectively manages multiple projects while meeting timelines
  • Ability to be firm and persuasive when needed, while maintaining good relationships
  • Handles confidential information with tact and discretion
