What You’ll Do

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:

  • Supports and demonstrates IMA’s core values

  • Provides recommendations on ways to continuously improve the IMA people experience, taking into consideration data received from new hire and exit surveys, as well as feedback across the organization
  • Helps design and then administers HR policies and procedures in large and/or complex markets
  • Responsible for building and maintaining successful relationships with leaders throughout assigned market(s), including Presidents and Executives, in order to gain understanding of business goals and opportunities for partnership
  • Serves as a trusted advisor to all managers and leaders throughout assigned market(s)
  • Researches business, market, and HR trends, continually expanding knowledge in both the business and HR
  • Continually monitors employment law and legal requirements for their assigned market(s)
  • Ensures company values are communicated and understood at all levels, provides clarity for the behaviors expected of all associates to fully engage in a mission-driven, high-performance culture
  • Leads risk management for all personnel issues within assigned market, working with Director of HR and Business Partnership and General Counsel as needed
  • Supports the Talent Acquisition team by providing insight to hiring needs and interviews candidates when requested
  • Helps drive engaging onboarding and transition practices throughout assigned market(s)
  • Prepares appropriate documentation for any promotions, salary adjustments, title changes, and transfers, ensuring data integrity and proper system/financial coding
  • Partners with managers on workforce planning and career development within teams
  • Serves as a support and resource for senior leaders regarding succession planning needs
  • Gives insightful guidance to managers regarding complex compensation issues, sharing data, best practices, and company philosophy as needed
  • Partners with managers regarding hiring needs, opens requisitions for applicable area and obtains proper approval levels throughout the organization
  • Mentors, leads, and/or manages HR Business Partners and/or Recruiters, providing appropriate coaching, direction, and development
  • Supports Corporate Benefits by keeping them informed of any medical leaves and/or accommodations needed, and answers benefit questions as needed, directing associates to Corporate Benefits for high level or complicated questions and circumstances
  • Supports IMA’s performance management process by engaging with associates and managers, coaches on goal creation and monitoring, providing consistent and direct feedback, and documenting performance conversations as needed
  • Partners with HR Talent Management to support and drive professional development and manager training and coaching
  • Must be present in the office in-person a minimum of 3-4 days per week in both Harrison, NY and Manhattan offices.

 

You Should Have:

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS include but are not limited to:

  • 7 to 10 years of similar or related experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or HR certifications preferred
  • Experience with MS Office products required
  • Demonstrates coaching and consulting skills with a solid track record of collaborating with executives and senior management in a geographically dispersed organization
  • Advanced level understanding of federal and state laws regarding employment practices
  • Knowledge of the insurance industry
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and high-quality standards
  • Experience with change management across diverse organizations preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to be clear, diplomatic, and persuasive
  • Possesses sound judgment, maturity, and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Limited travel required (less than 20%)
