- Identify exposures, benchmark clients against industry best practices, then recommend and deploy solutions to clients to prevent losses and strive for regulatory compliance in the areas of safety, health, and the environment in partnership with the Risk Control Team
- Establish and maintain oneself as a “subject matter expert” in an area that supports the client base within IMA.
- Take ownership of and maintain risk control service plans for all assigned clients.
- Make recommendations for remedying hazardous conditions, practice or potential loss for clients, ensuring causing circumstance to comply with appropriate codes, standards, and best practices.
- Write technically detailed reports that communicate a clear assessment of risk and effectively articulated recommendations.
- Survey locations, equipment, operations, and safety practices and prepares reports that identify potential hazards and related underwriting risks.
- Communicates and distributes safety, hazard prevention, and risk control information to clients.
- Develop and provide training regarding critical safety measures and guidelines.
- Understand, evaluate, and interpret insurance company and brokerage recommendations.
- Perform Risk Assessments to benchmark clients against industry best practices.
- Analyze losses and publish Loss Analysis to determine areas for improvement.

- Independently interfaces with clients and carriers to solve problems and answer questions

- Reviews and analyzes quotes, and negotiates the terms of the transaction
- Prepares draft proposals, submissions, and quotes
- Monitors market changes and performs marketing activities as needed by Broker
- Maintains knowledge of insurance coverages, carriers, and their business practices
- Gathers underwriting information from retail agents
- Assists with invoice management
- Provides exceptional customer service to incoming calls
- Executes other duties as assigned

As an intern, your time will be split between a core program shared throughout the cohort and work, projects and programming designed specifically for the department you are selected to join.
Towerstone is excited to host an intern for the upcoming 2024 summer program! This position will be located in Dallas, Texas.
Day to day responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Exposure to evaluation and implementation of workflows within the agency management system, specialized reports for quality assurance and data integrity, accounting processes, compliance guidelines, contractual issues, licensing, acquisition integration, etc.
- Executing other duties as assigned

- Exposure to preparing information needed to market new and renewal business, identifying and assessing business that may fit into carrier programs, monitoring market changes and performing marketing activities as needed by Broker, gathering underwriting information from retail agents, etc.
- Maintaining knowledge of insurance coverages, carriers, and their business practices
- Executing other duties as assigned

- Process renewals and incidental new business, cancellations, audits, and endorsement requests.
- Delegate cancellations, audits, and endorsement requests.
- Invoice policies, audits, endorsements, and cancellations as appropriate.
- Responsible for accuracy of your work product and that of others assisting you.
- Monitor issuance of certificates of insurance.
- Create certificate guidelines form.
- Responsible for renewal list.
- Market renewal policies.
- Negotiate coverages and premiums with carriers.
- Provide producer with renewal proposals.
- Final check on policies for coverage.
- Respond to or refer insured’s’ and underwriters’ questions or requests.
- Assist producer, accounting department and client in the reconciliation of client accounts.
- Responsible for account rounding.
- Develop and maintain excellent relationships with internal and external clients.
- Responsible for preservation of Bolton culture and image as set forth in our company policies and procedures.
- Serve as primary back up Client Manager for various teams across the P&C portfolio.
- Responsible for training new employees as part of on-boarding process.
- Responsible for training of existing employees as needed on agency management system, other processing systems and associated workflows.
- Assist with implementation of new technologies and processes.
- Process renewals and incidental new business, cancellations, audits, and endorsement requests.
- Responsible for accuracy of your work product and that of others assisting you.
- Issue certificates of insurance, when necessary.
- Create certificate guidelines form.
- Initiate renewal meetings and be responsible for renewal process.
- Negotiate coverages and premiums with carriers.
- Provide producer and/or client executive with accurate renewal proposals.
- Check policy coverages, endorsements and audits for accuracy.
- Respond to or refer insureds' and underwriters' questions or requests.
- Invoice policies, audits, endorsements, cancellations and other appropriate transactions.
- Assist producer, accounting department and client in the reconciliation of client accounts.
- Responsible for account rounding.
- Attend company and department meetings, position-related seminars/classes, client meetings, carrier functions, and other events as required.
- Adhere to policies and procedures set forth for the Department and Bolton & Company.
- Pursue a program for professional development, including attending educational classes in your specific field and those offered by Bolton in communication, leadership, corporate language and other classes as recommended by leaders
- Be an active, responsible team member, conducting yourself in a professional and respectful manner to all internal and external clients, carriers, and staff.
